What is the opportunity?

As an Assistant Manager of Collateral Management you will be responsible for overseeing the accuracy and completeness of collateral-related records across internal systems and external counterparties. The role ensures timely reconciliation of positions, margin calls, and collateral movements, identifies and resolves breaks, and maintains a robust control framework. Acting as a coordination point between operations, risk, finance, and external partners, the Assistant Manager contributes to reducing operational and counterparty risk and improving data quality and processes.

 

What will you do?Daily reconciliations & break management

  • Oversee daily reconciliation of collateral balances, margin calls, and positions between internal records and counterparties (clearing houses, custodians, triparty agents, brokers, clients).
  • Review and analyse breaks (cash and securities) and ensure timely resolution with proper documentation.
  • Monitor aging of breaks and escalate persistent or high-risk discrepancies to management and relevant stakeholders
  • Ensure all queries are managed effectively and escalation are sent to the Manager on timely manner
  • Assist the Manager in organising daily workload within the reconciliation team and monitoring operational KPIs (volume of breaks, aging, resolution time).
  • Provide guidance and support to junior team members; act as an escalation point for complex or sensitive breaks.
  • Help promote a strong control culture and continuous improvement mindset within the team
    Process improvement & projects
  • Identify recurring issues and root causes behind reconciliation breaks and propose sustainable remediation actions.
  • Participate in system and process enhancements, including UAT, workflow design, and implementation of new reconciliation tools or reports.

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Finance, Economics, Business, or a related field (or equivalent professional experience).

Must Have

  • Solid experience in financial operations, ideally in collateral management, middle office, or reconciliation functions
  • Sensitivity to information systems and good command of the Office package Specifically Excel and Access

  • Good grasp of reconciliation principles, accounting flows, and data integrity controls.

     

  • Analytical mindset with strong attention to detail; capable of investigating complex discrepancies and articulating root causes.

  • Strong communication skills and ability to coordinate with internal and external stakeholders under time pressure.

  • Ability to supervise tasks, prioritize workloads, and work to tight deadlines.

  • Proficiency in Excel and reconciliation tools; familiarity with collateral / risk systems and triparty platforms is an advantage

Nice-to-have

  • Familiar with 4Sight, SIM, Globe, Wings will be an advantage
